6th grade field trip!

Today Trent left for his 6th grade week long field trip this morning! He was so excited! There were a few nerves involved as well, but mostly excitement!
This was one heavy duffle bag. We found a cheap one at Ross, and we were able to fit everything in...including his sleeping bag, pillow, and backpack....hopefully he'll come home with everything!
He-man got it in the trunk!
Whew, that was heavy!

This is Trent's 6th grade teacher. This is his first year of teaching, and so far seems to be doing a great job.
Good-bye's....
Each kid is partnered with one other student. This is Spencer, his partner.

Rainy weather

We had a downpour last night. More rain than we've had in a long time! The roads were full, our windshield wipers couldn't keep up, and a piece of wood from our house blew off! I always like the look of the yard when the raid has just ended, the fence and rocks are wet...and the sun comes out.

Spinner

Have you ever played Spinner before? It is a dominoes game. Dale and Helen have been wanting to play it w/ our kids for awhile...so they came over and brought their game. It was fun! The kids have been asking us to look for a game! We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon!

Even Byron can play!

Kyla's 11!

Kyla is already 11! Can you believe it? We went out to their house on Friday night and helped her celebrate! I thought this picture of her holding Riley was so cute.
This is Kelsey's friend, Cassie. What a nice girl! Byron was SO jealous of her at first! I could not believe him! He gave her the cold shoulder, and at one point,boy....if looks could kill! After all, Kelsey is HIS buddy! But Cassie and Kelsey kept trying to bring him around (believe me, they had more patience than I had!) and during dinner, he started laughing and they all ended up having a good time! I was NOT expecting him to behave like that!
This is the first picture Byron painted in kindergarten. If you look closely and use some imagination, you can see that it is a dog ...... see, up there on the top, the orange is the head, the black body, and then the 2 legs and tail sticking out behind it. He was so thrilled to give it to her. Rumor has it, that Kelsey has now taken it and hung it above her bed! A bit of modern art!

Even the dogs got to celebrate! After all, you have to have the WHOLE family!

A Fair Day

We went to the fair! It had been several years since we'd been, so it was time to go! Lauren and Sandy came along, so that made it extra fun! (Thanks Sandy, for sending these pictures, since I forgot my camera!) The kids enjoyed some rides, and we enjoyed the commercial exhibits, fair food, and shows. The kids loved the demolition derby and the motorcycle show! The bumper cars were a big hit!

Sandy took some of the kids up on the huge Ferris wheel! They had quite a view from the top, and even got stopped up there!
Kyla's braid was just a'flyin' behind her on some of the bumps on this roller coaster!

Whew, Byron says, this is quite a ride!
Oh, and did I mention we ate fair food? After all, aren't funnel cakes, etc., what the fair is all about?

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Happy Birthday Mom! Shall I tell how old you are?

This was taken in 1956.
Would the nursing picture have been in 1962? And they were married in 1964. Hope you have a wonderful day! Thought you (and our viewers) would enjoy a little trip down memory lane!

Happy Birthday Chloe!

Well, Chloe is one now! The boys wanted to throw her a birthday party, and she was needing some new toys (she's a big chewer), so we sang happy birthday (yes, the things you do for your kids!) and gave her some new toys....here she is right after receiving them!

This is a ball that holds treats, making it difficult for her to get out.....so far it is working! So we hope it helps to keep her quiet outside when we are gone!

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow!

Well, in 22 years of knowing Robert, I've never seen him w/o a mustache....that is....until Sunday! He's been saying for a long time that he's going to shave it off, and he finally did! Believe me, it was a huge change! The boys were fascinated, and all day they kept calling him"uncle Roy" b/c he looks so much like Roy again! I kept staring at him all day b/c it just did NOT look like him! At gpl meeting, an older lady said to him "so YOU are still here, huh?" Robert said, Yep, I'm still here....we know she thought he was Roy, since they'd been here recently! Ha! One last smile before the upper lip is changed forever!
Out comes the shaving cream! If only I could record here all the giggles of the boys! Quite the audience! We should have popped popcorn! And....here's the end result!

17 years of marriage!

Here we are in 1989
while we were dating.
And at our wedding in 1990.

and now.....17 years later! :)
