Water under the bridge

Robert got to go away for work this week! He was given a boat tour of the new Bay bridge being built...he said it was amazing going right underneath the existing Bay bridge, and to be right up and close to the one being built. Here is directly under the existing bridge.
The existing bridge is a double decker. The new bridge will have a separate bridge for each direction.
This doesn't look too wide...however, it is 80' wide....wide enough for 5 lanes of traffic.

This is the color it will be painted....

Very impressive! Beautiful shots. Did Robert use your Canon Powershot for these pics?

Hi Elaine....My sister's son was a foreman on the Bay Bridge. He has been working on it since it started running a crew. Now he is in Minn. running a crew 24/7 rebuilding the bridge that collapsed there........you will have to show my sister these photos. She and Chuck would love to see them.

These are really NEAT pictures! What will they do with the old bridge I wonder? Seems like a long project! I wonder how long it has been going on and how long it will take to get done? Thanks for sharing.

Wow... so amazing... I've gone over the "old" bridge many times. Had no idea they were replacing it. Is it a homeland security "upgrade"?
Saw Loren and Sandy at C. Grande Convention... they seem to be happy in their new place.
